Re-seeing the world

2017

Photography is an artistic language that allows several possibilities of use and creation of poetics, from its invention to the present day. In this context, the workshop Artesanal Photography: with the eyes of re-seeing the world was taught at the Freshman's Week of the Social Communication course of the Federal University of Pará and also at the XXI National Meeting of Art Students (ENEARTE), in Salvador-BA. From the workshop, using handcrafted photography, it was possible to make studies with light about the formation of images, using the construction of dark cameras, creations with light brush, which serve as a basis for understanding the processes in digital photography.

The final proposal of the workshop was to share the camera obscura experience with the University's academic community. Thus, we took the cameras built into the corridors where various curious looks experienced visualizing the "inverted" world. Posting the records made, from the use of cell phones of the participants, is also a way of sharing the experiences with handcrafted photography.

The educational proposal of generating reflections in front of time and space was of extreme importance to understand the distance and the proximity of the principle to the flow of information that we have today. We joined old knowledge to the domain of technology of the participants of the workshop.
